Abstract
This IDC study presents an analysis of the top 10 worldwide and U.S. discrete
application management (AM) services vendors of 2007, as measured by IDC' s
estimates of those companies' 2007 discrete AM revenue. This study links in
with the broader bundled AM services view presented in Zooming Out to Capture
the Broader Application Outsourcing Opportunity: 2007 Integrated and Discrete
Views (IDC #214063, forthcoming).
"Incumbent global vendors, such as Accenture and IBM, are facing increasing
competition from European and offshore Indian players. The competitive arena is
more fierce with service differentiation proving more difficult. Flexible
delivery and management models, alongside scalability, reliability, and high
performance will be critical as new hosting models become viable alternatives
to the enterprise," according to Rona Shuchat, director of Application
Outsourcing services at IDC.
