Abstract
This IDC study examines the use of technology in households with after-hours
workers, and also describes the support that they receive from employers. The
22.9 million corporate after-hours households account for over 60% of all home
office households, and represent an important market for vendors of technology
products and services.
"Corporate after-hours home office households are by far the largest segment of
the home office market in the United States," says Merle Sandler, research
manager in IDC' s SMB and Home Office Market programs. "Although these
households represent mature markets in terms of many technology products, there
are still areas of potential for vendors, particularly in the areas of
networking, security, and backup."
