Abstract
This IDC study provides insights on the channel partners' UC readiness in the
APEJ region. The report presents IDC' s analysis for Australia, India, Korea,
Malaysia, the PRC and Taiwan, where IDC analysts interviewed a cross section of
channel partners (ITSPs, systems integrators [SIs], distributors, VARs, and
ISVs) of key UC vendors to understand their level of readiness.
The study provides analysis on the differences in UC strategy and readiness of
channel partners of NEPs versus those of software vendors. What are the
UC-related dynamics among channels that are large regional ITSPs versus local
channel partners? IDC sees that channels are at varying levels of readiness
across different countries as the channels are responding to the unique
dynamics of the countries. The study, however, does not reveal the name of the
channel partners in order to maintain confidentiality. This report also
highlights the expectations of UC channel partners from their principal vendors.
