Abstract
This IDC update serves to highlight key adjustments made between 1Q08 and 4Q07
versions of the IDC' s Asia/Pacific (AP) five-year IT spending forecasts, that
can be found in the following pivot tables, respectively: Asia/Pacific IT
Spending 2008-2012 Forecast: The Asia/Pacific Black Book, April 2008
(forthcoming document) and Asia/Pacific IT Spending 2007-2011 Forecast: The
Asia/Pacific Black Book, January 2008 (IDC #AP381104Q, April 2008).
Note that forecast iterations found in version 4Q07 are presented in constant
2006 U.S. dollar exchange rates, whereas those found in version 1Q08 are in
constant 2007 U.S. dollar exchange rates. As IDC does not restate historic
years' data at different exchange rates, readers must note the incongruence of
making direct comparisons between the two quarters. As a result of these
exchange rate disparities, percentage changes by technology segment between the
two quarters will not be presented in this specific update.

- Storage devices, categorized into disk storage systems and tapes
- Peripherals and add-ons, categorized into printers, smart handheld devices (SHDs), and other add-ons
