Abstract
This IDC study provides a high-level, comprehensive view of the worldwide digital camcorder market. It contains 2006 and 2007 actual unit shipments and total 2008-2012 forecasts. It also contains vendor unit shipment market share on a worldwide basis for 2007. Analog camcorder shipments are offered as a comparison but analog dollar values are not. Data is presented for the United States, Japan, Western Europe, and rest of the world (ROW).
"The camcorder category will remain a niche over the forecast period," said Chris Chute, research manager, Worldwide Digital Imaging Solutions and Services.
