Abstract
IDC' s survey of more than 700 European enterprises across seven key countries and regions shows good growth in 2008 budgets. Almost half of the enterprises of all sizes expected increase in external services spending, slightly more than the year before. "We expect European enterprises to review their spending plans in the light of the downturn, but we do not expect massive cuts," said Mette Ahorlu, consulting director, IDC European Software and Services. "Vendors that can prove through previous engagements that they can help to improve a customer' s business processes will still find strong opportunities. Midsize enterprises look to be the largest spenders, particularly in Benelux and Spain, whereas France, together with Italy, seems to be set for a weak year."
