Abstract
This Government Insights report looks at spending on IT security by U.S.
federal agencies. One quick way to benchmark whether a federal agency is
spending enough to ensure the safety of its IT systems is to look at how that
agency' s IT security budget stacks up against other agencies. This detailed IT
security benchmarking guide lets federal agencies understand how much other
agencies are dedicating to specific types of IT security projects and systems.
"We consistently hear from federal IT planners that they want to know what
their peers are doing and how much they are budgeting to specific solutions,"
says Shawn McCarthy, research director of government vendor programs. "With IT
security in the forefront of the minds of both IT administrators and government
procurement officers, it was the logical choice for our first benchmarking
guide in Government Insights' United States Government Infrastructure
Optimization Service."
