Abstract
Both IT OEM and power equipment companies are actively developing and
designing hardware and software products that claim significant energy
efficiency improvements. The questions is whether there is one perfect
solution and whether there is a real scope for these technologies. This paper
profiles and discusses the relevance of disruptive technologies in the power
